Our client is currently looking to hire an Edible Head Chef to take ownership of the kitchen by maintaining standards for product development, formulation, dosing, finished product, ordering, and cleanliness. The individual in this role will need to be extremely organized and be comfortable coaching and coordinating the production team.


  • Must have a strong background in science or math and be able to handle complex equations to successfully medicate and cost products
  • Ensure manufacturing operations comply with all regulations, policies, and procedures relating to security, health, and safety
  • Must have a strong foundation in cooking and multitask with a sense of urgency.
  • Must have knowledge of MED code, guidelines and ensure Canyonland is compliant when it comes to recipe development and production
  • Must maintain inventory levels that are acceptable on ingredients and finished product and keep our product as fresh as possible.
  • Orders all ingredients, smallwares, and equipment needed to produce the best of the best
  • Conduct research and development for new/innovative ways of streamlining production processes
  • Must cost ingredients to ensure Canyon is getting the best price possible
  • Introduce new product lines within the company
  • Ensure equipment maintenance occurs regularly or as needed.
  • Create and maintain detailed SOP’s for each product and processes inside production team
  • Must possess leadership presence with production team by coaching and mentoring
  • Make recommendations and communicate with the GM on hiring and terminations inside the production department
  • Must have a direct and sensitive communication style.
  • Must be an ambassador of Canyon with our vendors and the public.
  • Must have good hygiene and a professional appearance.
  • Must be willing to step up and work through conflict for the mutual benefit of all involved.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills.
  • Must demonstrate a vast sense of commitment to Canyon
  • Must have a strong skill set with computers, be versatile in Quickbooks, and have a good understanding of basic accounting practices


  • Bachelor’s Degree required in science, accounting, math or a related field or Cooking School degree in baking or similar field. Master’s degree in any related field preferred.
  • Must maintain current knowledge and adhere to all policy and regulations of the MED and CO Department of Health
  • Two (2) years previous experience in a management role of similar size and scope to CC required.
  • Valid Key level badge from MED required.
  • 1-3 years’ experience with METRC program
  • Proven track record of creating, developing and executing manufacturing operational processes and procedures
  • Ability to effectively give and receive feedback and supervision required.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office Suite skills and standard office equipment required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, work independently and respond to changing priorities proficiently.
  • Demonstrated a high level of organizational, interpersonal, and oral communication skills required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, collaboratively, and maintain a high level of professionalism.

Working Conditions :

  • Work environment typically includes all working spaces in the CC office and kitchen.
  • Must be able to work independently, establish work priorities, on a regular basis and respond to changing priorities proficiently.
  • Must be able to use and operate equipment including, but not limited to computers, telephones and copy/fax machines.
  • Ability to sit for long periods, work at a computer for long periods, stand, lift (up to 50 pounds), walk, stoop, reach, bend, kneel, drive, throughout the course of the workday. All activities may be present during the workday.
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities that permit the employee to communicate effectively on the telephone and in person.
  • Ability to adapt to short, demanding timelines, with changing priorities and business needs.
